Xscape Braehead had a double celebration on last week as a record day for footfall pushed visitor numbers through the 10 million mark.
The 10 million mile-stone was reached on Saturday with almost 20,000 visitors going through the doors in a single day. 19,629 visitors on Saturday beat the previous record day – 19,351 visitors on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2009.
Colin Reid Marketing Manager for Xscape Braehead, was naturally delighted,
‘This is an amazing figure - both in terms of having nearly 20,000 people through the doors in a single day and the cumulative figure of 10 million. It’s like having had every single person in Scotland visit us twice since we opened.
‘Saturday was a great day with a fabulous atmosphere all day long. We have had good days before but what is very exciting is that Saturday was neither a bank holiday or within a school holiday – both occasions when we’d expect to be busy. We may be on the brink of an upturn, but good quality, value for money, fun for all the family is clearly popular no matter what the economic climate. ‘
There’s always something going on at the X-Leisure venues, and we work closely with the press to help us shout about iT…
